A Certified Surf Therapy Facilitator devoted to supporting women through the healing power of the ocean.
Begin Your JourneyHi, I’m Meg — a Certified Surf Therapy Facilitator devoted to supporting women reconnect with their power, intuition, and joy through the ocean.
I found surfing at 19 years old and it has always been my safe space – a place that met me exactly where I was, no matter what life was asking of me. Before dedicating my life to surf therapy, I spent years working as a registered nurse, being with people in their most vulnerable moments. Being with others during times of fear, uncertainty, and profound tenderness taught me how to truly see people — how to hold space, how to listen beneath the surface, and how to support emotional healing with sensitivity and compassion. Those skills are the foundation of how I lead in the water today.
My path has also been shaped by years of working with at-risk youth through surf therapy programs and surf-based nonprofit organizations. From teaching ocean safety to introducing kids to their very first waves, I’ve witnessed how powerful playful joy, mentorship, and the natural world can be for emotional resilience. It’s shown me how to create experiences that feel safe, empowering, and deeply human — no matter your age or surf level.
Surfing itself has been one of my greatest teachers. It’s taught me humility, softness, resilience, and the art of moving through powerful moments with ease rather than force. Through private/group sessions and community workshops with local non profits, my work has grown into a blend of therapeutic guidance, intuitive surf coaching, and feminine, ocean-centered leadership. Today, I lead women to meet the ocean as they are — tender, brave, curious, or afraid — and support them in becoming the surfer and woman they’re meant to be.
"My spaces are gentle yet bold, playful yet grounded, and always rooted in connection."
When I’m not in the water, you’ll find me building programs that feel expansive, nurturing, and fun — creating opportunities for women to discover confidence, presence, and freedom in the waves and in themselves.
At Gentle Waves Surf Therapy, surfing becomes more than a skill—it becomes a space to gently reconnect with yourself.
Surf therapy is an experiential approach that uses time in the ocean to support confidence, self-trust, and a deeper sense of ease in your body. Rather than pushing or forcing growth, this work is rooted in meeting yourself where you are.
Each session weaves together:
As you move through the ocean—paddling, catching waves, or simply sitting with the water—you begin to notice your patterns in a natural, unforced way.
With guidance and support, these moments become opportunities—not for judgment, but to slow down, soften, and reconnect.
Over time, this creates space for:
And just as importantly… a return to joy.
Moments of lightness, play, and freedom in the water—where you’re not trying to get it right, but simply allowing yourself to experience.
This is not about becoming a perfect surfer.
It’s about learning how to be with yourself—gently, honestly, and with more trust, love, and ease.

“I gained peace, calm, learning how to turtle roll and cork over waves, the chance to go deeper and do something for my self-care. Meg created a safe space, which allowed me to grieve and let go of something I didn't even realize I felt incomplete about, it made me feel like I wasn't alone and supported.”
